Google displays Quality Score
Google has finally started showing the keyword level Quality Score in the accounts.

But you might not be able to see this as soon as you log in to the account. If you don't see it, click the "Customize Columns" link just above the keyword table, and select "Show Quality Score". The page will then reload with a column displaying Quality score for each of the keywords as shown above.
But what are the implications of showing the quality score?
The quality score shown is just a "Good-Bad-Ugly" indication, that's it. if you think of it, we already knew if our QS was good or bad by looking at the keyword status and performance.
What would have helped is if Google told us for what reason the QS is good or bad. Whether we need to work on the Ad or the landing page. But I guess that won't happen atleast in the near future.
This onscreen display of what we knew already has definitely excited many in the industry, but I think this fervor might die down after a couple of weeks.
One of my colleagues asked me, 'OK so the QS is showing, now what?'. I didn't have too much to say to him.

There is no transparency can be provided with one extra column of QS showing Good or OK status. Some ground theory has be there to decide the status of Good or ok, as all we know if the keywords are performing well at low CTR means QS is good. One column is not enough to provide transparency behind the game of QS.

"now what?"
this at least allows A/B testing of landing pages + the ability to test *what* is affecting quality score.
It's also good for testing *new* keywords. When you add a batch of keywords & you're told to up your bid or improve quality, previously you didn't know where you stood: would improving QS really help you? Or were you actually performing well there & just bidding too low? Now, if it says 'improve your quality score' & you're showing as 'poor', you at least know the effort you're putting in isn't a dead loss.
It's a shame there's not more info, but they obviously feel they have to protect against gaming.
