Google displays Quality Score
Google has finally started showing the keyword level Quality Score in the accounts.

But you might not be able to see this as soon as you log in to the account. If you don't see it, click the "Customize Columns" link just above the keyword table, and select "Show Quality Score". The page will then reload with a column displaying Quality score for each of the keywords as shown above.
But what are the implications of showing the quality score?
The quality score shown is just a "Good-Bad-Ugly" indication, that's it. if you think of it, we already knew if our QS was good or bad by looking at the keyword status and performance.
What would have helped is if Google told us for what reason the QS is good or bad. Whether we need to work on the Ad or the landing page. But I guess that won't happen atleast in the near future.
This onscreen display of what we knew already has definitely excited many in the industry, but I think this fervor might die down after a couple of weeks.
One of my colleagues asked me, 'OK so the QS is showing, now what?'. I didn't have too much to say to him.

Adwords In-Stream Video Ads

Google Adwords, now has a new format for ads. Called In-Stream ads, these ads vary slightly from the existing video ads, which are now called In-page video ads.

These new In-stream ads will appear on the Google content network like the inpage ads, as well as in Google Videos. These will be like advertisements on a television, appearing in between a streaming video.
While making the ad, you are required to upload a new video for your ad or even use an existing inpage video ad. You can also use a logo for your product/service and have a 25-35-35 text ad which is clickable (I'm not sure if the textual portion is the only click-able portion of the ad).
I don't think Video ads have taken off too well, atleast in India. I have not come across any Google video ads while surfing. I wonder how the response for these new Instream ads will be like.
Question is, do they/will they ever appear on YouTube?

Google is TRYING to advertise the Adsense API

Came across an AD for the Google Adsense API while I was checking mail in Gmail. I think we better teach them how to play their own game huh?
I didn't expect that the Big Guys at Google would allow such poor ad writing to come through.
Google, you can use the form on the main page if you need some training.
:)
